Dubai: Alexandra Christmas, an English expat, initially visited Dubai for a brief stopover en route to Vietnam. Two years later, she has established a new career, significantly improved her health, and found a place she now calls home.

During her five days in Dubai—two on her way to Vietnam and three on her return to England—Christmas made a life-altering decision to relocate permanently. Upon her return to Birmingham Airport, she recognized the need to organize her plans for a move.

She identified a significant gap in the market for business conducted on golf courses. After arriving in Dubai, she quickly joined a golf community group and began taking lessons within three weeks. This initiative has since evolved into a thriving business venture.

Currently, Christmas dedicates her time to golf. Whether playing on the course or practicing at the range, she immerses herself in the sport. Her daily activities often include discussing golf or watching related videos. She manages an Instagram account, @golfgirl.dxb, where she shares her golfing journey and serves as an ambassador for Prosports, a UAE-based golf retailer.

When asked about the allure of golf, she emphasized its capacity to become all-consuming. The vibrant golf community in Dubai allows individuals to connect with others, often leading to new friendships or business opportunities. She noted that even after a round of golf, the social interactions continue in the clubhouse, reinforcing the idea that golf is more than just a sport; it is a lifestyle.

The challenge and discipline required in golf are what keep her engaged. Christmas explained that the sport is about continuous improvement, with players always striving to enhance their skills. This ongoing pursuit is what draws her back to the game, allowing her to channel her energy effectively.

Currently residing in Dubai with her seven-year-old Rottweiler, Nala, Christmas envisions a future that aligns with her passion for golf. She humorously described her dream of living in a villa overlooking a golf course in Jumeirah Golf Estates, complete with a golf-loving husband and two children who share her enthusiasm for the sport.

This vision is something she actively works toward, one swing at a time.
