A Dazzling Celebration in Dubai
Dubai is set to ignite the senses as the Dubai Festival of Lights 2025 returns, running from October 17 to 26. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, this year’s lineup includes star-studded concerts, comedy nights, and engaging workshops that celebrate the spirit of joy and unity.
Spectacular Fireworks Display
The night sky will light up with breathtaking fireworks displays at some of Dubai’s cherished family destinations. A striking exhibition along the banks of the Dubai Creek at Souk Al Seef is scheduled for October 17 at 9 PM. Global Village will follow suit with its own captivating shows on October 18, 19, 24, and 25, also starting at 9 PM. The festival’s vibrant fireworks are anticipated to draw large crowds, creating unforgettable moments for families and friends.
Cultural and Community Events
The heart of the festival lies in its cultural offerings. Noor – Festival of Lights will make a prominent return at Souk Al Seef from October 17 to 19, transforming the heritage site into a hub of immersive experiences. Attendees can expect lively processions, live music, stand-up comedy, and interactive workshops. This celebration will be framed by stunning Diwali-themed decorations and fireworks, contributing to a memorable ambience.
Global Village will commemorate its 30th season through a four-day extravaganza from October 17 to 20. Attendees will witness enchanting performances on the Main Stage alongside vibrant Rangoli art installations. The Diwali Mela will offer a marketplace filled with colorful décor, shopping opportunities, and an array of culinary delights.
Free-to-Attend Mall Performances
Shopping centers across Dubai will host free entertainment throughout the festival. BurJuman Mall will feature festive programming until October 22, offering a series of live music performances, including a Baithak series on Saturdays, traditional dance acts every Sunday, and lively game nights. Workshops for children, such as henna art and diya painting, will also be available.
From October 17 to 19, WAFI City will showcase cultural performances in its Main Atrium. Families can engage in various free children’s activities, puppet shows, and creative workshops. Asha’s Restaurant will complement this experience with a specially curated menu of traditional Indian dishes to enhance the festival’s festive atmosphere.
City Centre Deira and City Centre Shindagha will present roaming entertainment from October 17 to 19, featuring traditional dance acts and live musicians. Shoppers during this period can earn 10X SHARE bonus points on various purchases. City Centre Deira will culminate the festivities with a Diwali-themed Escalator Fashion Show on October 25, featuring a special surprise guest.
Concerts and Comedy Nights

On October 18, renowned South Indian composer Ilaiyaraja will perform at Dubai Opera, showcasing a selection of his timeless hits. That same night, Andrea Jeremiah will take the stage at Etisalat Academy with an electrifying performance that fuses contemporary sounds with rich South Indian influences.
Comedy aficionados will not be disappointed, as global comedy icon Russell Peters brings his latest world tour to Dubai for a one-night performance at Coca Cola Arena on October 25. Additionally, acclaimed comedian Sugar Sammy will perform at Zabeel Theatre on October 18 and 19. Tamil-speaking audiences can look forward to comedian Praveen Kumar’s headlining act at Live@Play by Hive Al Quoz on October 25.
To further enrich the festival experience, the Dubai Festival Plaza will host “Lights & Legends – The Stories of Diwali” on October 24 and 25. This theatrical series will blend storytelling through song, poetry, dance, and folk music, offering creative workshops designed for children.
