PSG Signs World Cup Hero Ferran Torres
Ferran Torres has officially joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a deal valued at approximately £43 million. The striker, who scored the decisive goal for Spain in the World Cup final against Argentina last month, has signed a five-year contract and will don the No. 9 shirt for the French club.
Expressing his excitement, Torres stated, “I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain. I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.”
Atlético Madrid Confirm Signing of Cristian Romero
In another significant transfer, Atlético Madrid has confirmed the acquisition of Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur for £34.1 million. The Argentine centre-back has signed a five-year deal with the Spanish side.
Tottenham expressed gratitude towards Romero for his contributions during his time at the club, stating, “We have reached agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Cristian Romero. Signed from Atalanta in 2021, ‘Cuti’ was a key player in our UEFA Europa League triumph of 2024/25 and was named captain for the 2025/26 campaign.”
Romero, who was instrumental in Argentina’s World Cup victory in 2022, has made 156 appearances for Spurs, contributing significantly to their defensive line.
