The 41st Annual Imagen Awards took place on Friday night at The Beverly Hilton, celebrating excellence in Latino film, television, and streaming. The event highlighted the contributions of Latino artists and storytellers, presenting 33 awards to recognize their efforts in advancing authentic representation in the entertainment industry. A significant moment of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran actor Andy Garcia, who also performed with his band, CineSon All Stars.

Among the standout projects of the night was Apple TV’s “Acapulco,” which received multiple accolades for its fourth and final season. Oscar Almengor was honored as Best Director, while Eugenio Derbez and Vanesa Bauche took home awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, respectively. Enrique Arrizon was also recognized with a tie for Best Actor in a Comedy for his role in the series.

A Night of Recognition for “Acapulco”

The “Acapulco” team was further celebrated with the Creative Achievement Award, presented by Imagen Foundation founder and president Helen Hernandez. The series also won the award for Best Music Supervision for Film or Television, awarded to Javier Nuño and Joe Rodríguez. The recognition of “Acapulco” underscores its impact and popularity within the Latino community and beyond.

Honoring Andy Garcia

Andy Garcia received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his four-decade career and commitment to Latino representation in Hollywood. Actor Danny Pino presented the award, highlighting Garcia’s significant contributions to the industry. Following the award presentation, Garcia and his band delivered a special performance, joined by Grammy Award-winning musician Arturo Sandoval.

“Andy Garcia represents the very best of what the Imagen Foundation has sought to celebrate for more than four decades,” Hernandez stated. “He has developed a remarkable body of work, artistic integrity, and commitment to creating opportunities for Latino talent that have inspired generations of storytellers.”

Other Notable Winners

The evening also recognized “Brownsville Bred” as the Best Feature Film, with Dolores Fonzi winning Best Actress for her role in “Belén.” “Will Trent” was awarded Best Drama Series, while “Scrubs” took home the award for Best Comedy Series. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo was honored as Best Actor in a Drama for “The Lincoln Lawyer,” and Amirah Vahn received Best Actress in a Drama for “Doc.” Additional acting honors went to Michael Peña for “All Her Fault” and Arienne Mandi for “Chicago P.D.”
