The beloved Shrek franchise is officially returning with a highly anticipated fifth installment, and Zendaya is set to join the star-studded cast as Shrek’s daughter.
A Fresh Face in the Swamp
Zendaya, known for her acclaimed performances in Euphoria, Dune, and the Spider-Man films, will lend her voice to the newest member of Shrek’s family. She joins returning cast members Mike Myers (Shrek), Eddie Murphy (Donkey), and Cameron Diaz (Fiona) in the animated adventure.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 23, 2026. Directed by Walt Dohrn, Conrad Vernon, and Brad Ableson, with Gina Shay and Chris Meledandri producing, Shrek 5 aims to bring back the franchise’s signature humor and heart.
