Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, announced the launch of the Dubai AI Academy on Friday, marking a major step in the emirate’s ambitious journey to become a global hub for artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to educate and train 10,000 individuals—both emerging and established leaders—while positioning Dubai as a world-leading provider of AI training and certification.
In his remarks, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai is poised to become the destination of choice for those aspiring to lead in AI. The academy will collaborate with globally renowned academic institutions, including Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, Udacity, and the Minerva Project, to offer advanced, future-focused AI programmes.

“Artificial intelligence is driving an unprecedented transformation in human history, reshaping how individuals, institutions, and governments think and operate,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “Those who are best prepared for the future are the ones building the foundations today—by enabling ecosystems, empowering talent, and ensuring responsible AI governance.”

The announcement came during Dubai AI Week, hosted at the Museum of the Future, which attracted over 30,000 participants. The event showcased Dubai’s commitment to integrating AI into core sectors and fostering innovation-driven growth.

Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the government’s ongoing support for impactful initiatives that highlight the diverse and promising applications of AI across education, governance, and the economy. He noted that the next phase will involve the establishment of more AI companies in Dubai, deeper engagement with international experts, and directives for government leaders to implement comprehensive AI adoption strategies.
“We are moving forward with determination to seize the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence to design a better future,” he said. “Our goal is to enhance quality of life and create lasting, positive impact across society.”
