Macphie Launches New Dubai Base

Expansion of Culinary Facilities in the Middle East

Macphie, a family-owned Scottish food ingredients manufacturer, has officially opened a new culinary facility in Dubai. This customer center is a key component of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in the Middle Eastern market.

The facility is strategically located in the United Arab Emirates and encompasses a space of 175 square meters designed to replicate a working kitchen or bakery. This innovative hub will host live demonstrations, collaborative workshops, and tailored menu trials, aiming to enhance customer interaction and product application in the region.

Enhancing Customer Engagement

James Parker, the Food Applications Manager at Macphie, emphasized the importance of this new space. “It’s a space where we can connect with our customers on a one-to-one basis, better understand their challenges and demonstrate how our ingredients and products can provide solutions to those challenges,” he stated. This initiative aligns with Macphie’s commitment to quality and innovation in its product offerings.

The facility has already welcomed numerous clients, showcasing the potential of collaborative solutions tailored to specific needs. “For chefs and bakers facing extended high humidity conditions, long service windows, or fluctuating costs, the ability to test our products in a like-for-like setting is a game changer,” Parker added.

Bespoke Experiences for Clients

Visits to the new center are by appointment only, ensuring a personalized experience for each client. This tailored approach allows Macphie’s team to customize demonstrations according to the unique requirements of various clients. The initiative highlights the company’s dedication to providing not just products, but comprehensive solutions in the culinary space.

Fawaz Al Bahri, CEO of a regional partner business, expressed support for this development. He noted that the long-standing partnership with Macphie has been based on shared values such as quality, consistency, and innovation. “Their investment in a dedicated base in the Middle East is a welcome development and a clear sign of their long-term commitment to the region,” he reaffirmed.

Long-Term Commitment to the Region

Macphie has maintained a presence in the Middle East for over three decades and harbors ambitions to more than double its sales in the region over the next three years. The Dubai investment, exceeding £100,000, serves as a cornerstone of this strategic initiative.

Parker highlighted the advantages of having a facility in Dubai. “Having our own space in Dubai helps us better understand the nuances of the market. We’re not just supplying product; we’re solving problems, sharing insight, and building relationships that last,” he explained.

Legacy of Sustainability and Innovation

Founded in 1928, Macphie employs over 300 individuals across its UK facilities and is known for supplying well-recognized food brands globally. The company has consistently led in sustainability efforts, achieving B Corp certification in 2015, making it one of the first businesses in Scotland to do so.

The Glenbervie headquarters generates more renewable energy than it consumes, thanks to investments in wind turbines and an on-site biomass plant. This commitment to sustainable practices reinforces Macphie’s dedication to both its products and its environmental responsibilities.

Future Directions and Market Growth

As Macphie seeks to expand its footprint in the Middle East, the newly launched Dubai facility exemplifies the company’s strategic direction. It not only provides a venue for increased customer engagement but also showcases the potential for innovation and collaboration in the food service industry.

The focus on high-quality ingredients and solutions uniquely positions Macphie to address the evolving challenges faced by culinary professionals in a region known for its dynamic market.

This initiative marks a significant chapter in Macphie’s ongoing journey to forge strong partnerships and create impactful solutions tailored to the demands of the culinary landscape in the Middle East.
