Alternative medicine is poised to take a prominent role in Dubai as the emirate seeks to enhance the integration of traditional healing practices into its healthcare system. The 3rd International AYUSH Conference & Exhibition 2026 will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from February 15 to 17, drawing wellness brands, practitioners, clinics, and hospitals from around the globe to showcase ancient medical traditions and their contemporary applications.

The event is organized by the Science India Forum, a voluntary organization dedicated to the promotion of science, in collaboration with the World Ayurveda Foundation. It is held under the patronage of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and the Consulate General of India in Dubai.

Holistic Health Focus

This conference positions Dubai as a regional hub for traditional and complementary medicine, coinciding with a growing interest in holistic health and preventive care across the UAE. With a diverse population increasingly focused on wellness, organizers anticipate significant engagement from healthcare professionals, policymakers, and residents.

Ahmed Ibrahim Musabih, president of the UAE Yoga Committee, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to integrating AYUSH practices into its healthcare framework. He noted that Ayurveda will be a cornerstone in supporting the healthcare sector, with yoga and meditation playing integral roles. During the conference, an MoU will be signed with relevant partners to facilitate the integration of these practices into the healthcare system, in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health. Musabih highlighted that this partnership aims to bridge existing gaps and promote further research and integration.

A Gathering of Experts

The conference will feature leading global experts, practitioners, and businesses involved in the AYUSH spectrum, which includes Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy. Organizers aim to demonstrate how ancient medical systems are evolving through research, technology, and integration with mainstream healthcare.

Dr. V.L. Shyam, general secretary of the Organizing Committee for AYUSH 2026, remarked that the philosophy of AYUSH aligns closely with Dubai’s global outlook and commitment to sustainability. He stated that AYUSH embodies the essence of sustainability by addressing fundamental questions about population health and maintenance. Dr. Shyam believes Dubai serves as an ideal platform for showcasing these concepts to a global audience.

The event will also include participation from insurance companies, herbal traders, and medicinal plant cultivators, highlighting the expanding ecosystem surrounding traditional medicine and health tourism.

Emphasis on Wellbeing

The three-day conference and exhibition are expected to catalyze long-term collaboration, research, and policy development, reinforcing Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for integrated and preventive healthcare. Dr. Easa Bastaki, President and CEO of Dubai University, noted that the conference reflects a growing acknowledgment of healthcare models that encompass both physical and mental wellbeing. He expressed gratitude for an event that highlights alternative forms of medicine, emphasizing the need for a collaborative effort to create a comprehensive healthcare system.

Trade, Innovation, and Global Access

In addition to healthcare integration, the exhibition will focus on trade, innovation, and global market access for AYUSH-based industries. The conference will feature over 100 exhibitors, 75 invited talks, and 250 oral presentations, attracting more than 1,200 delegates from over 35 countries.

Exhibitors will include AYUSH pharmaceutical companies, wellness brands, practitioners, clinics, and hospitals, as well as research institutes, laboratories, and educational organizations. Manufacturers of laboratory equipment, herbal processing machinery, and medical devices will also be present.

Satish Kumar Shivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, highlighted the Government of India’s view of the event as a crucial platform for medical outreach and economic expansion. He stated that the government aims to provide a robust platform for the AYUSH system from both medical and business perspectives. Shivan noted that around 100 exhibitors, including major players like Himalaya and Dabur, will participate, showcasing the industry’s scale.

He emphasized the significant economy surrounding the AYUSH tradition and the importance of enabling manufacturers and producers to access global markets. The exhibition aims to promote holistic health worldwide while showcasing products that facilitate this goal. Shivan concluded that future efforts will focus on raising awareness, encouraging broader acceptance of these systems, and facilitating partnerships and trade agreements that create global platforms for manufacturers.
