Dubai Chambers Hosts Estonia Business Seminar with Justice and Digital Affairs Minister

Strengthening Economic Ties

Dubai Chambers, in collaboration with the Government of Estonia and the UAE–Estonia Business Council, hosted the inaugural Dubai–Estonia Business Seminar. This significant event aimed to deepen trade, investment, and innovation ties between two digitally advanced economies.

Held at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers, the seminar attracted prominent figures, including H.E. Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs; H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; and H.E. Maria Belovas, Ambassador of Estonia to the UAE.

Focus on Collaboration Across Sectors

During the seminar, discussions centered around enhancing cooperation between Dubai and Estonian companies across a diverse range of sectors, including advanced technologies, the digital economy, renewable energy, and agritech. Participants identified opportunities to strengthen trade relations and leverage mutual expertise, paving the way for impactful new partnerships.

H.E. Liisa-Ly Pakosta emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “The Dubai–Estonia Forum reflects a shared understanding that digital progress is not built in isolation but through collaboration and trust.” She highlighted the UAE’s commitment to innovation and how it parallels Estonia’s vision of using technology to bolster economies and improve quality of life.

Expanding Business Membership

The number of Estonian companies registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce saw a significant increase. By the end of the first half of 2025, 95 Estonian companies were confirmed as active members, marking a 37% year-on-year growth in 2024. Notably, 15 new Estonian firms joined the chamber during H1 2025, indicating a strong interest in the UAE’s business landscape.

H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah remarked on the strengthening of the relationship between Dubai and Estonia, noting, “The strong and growing relationship between Dubai and Estonia creates a solid foundation for advancing our shared economic goals.” He underscored Dubai’s strategic location and business-friendly regulatory environment, positioning it as an ideal hub for Estonian companies looking to expand internationally.

Growing Trade Relations

Bilateral trade relations have shown robust growth, with non-oil trade between Dubai and Estonia reaching AED 542.3 million in 2024. This figure reflects a year-on-year increase of 10% from AED 494.5 million in 2023, underlining the increasing economic interaction between the two nations.

The seminar featured insightful presentations that elaborated on the strategic advantages of both Dubai and Estonia as places for business establishment and growth. These insights reinforced a shared vision for a prosperous economic future, presenting opportunities for companies in both regions.
