Dubai Launches New AI Projects to Accelerate Digital Transformation
Dubai is advancing its commitment to becoming “the world’s fastest, smartest and most prepared city to adopt future technologies and AI,” according to Sheikh Hamdan. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“Our vision is clear, and our priorities are well defined,” Sheikh Hamdan stated. “We are in a constant race to enhance the readiness of our government entities not only to keep pace with future transformations but also to make the most of AI tools in delivering services that are more efficient, secure, and innovative, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).”
New AI Initiatives Approved
Among the newly approved initiatives are the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform, the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce, and the Unicorn 30 Programme. These projects are targeted at key aspects of Dubai’s digital economy strategy, emphasizing adoption, governance, and innovation.
AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform
The AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform is designed to assist government entities in effectively developing and deploying AI technologies. It provides a secure, integrated digital environment that merges advanced infrastructure with readily available smart services. This platform aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and bolster cybersecurity while facilitating quicker delivery of AI-driven services.
Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce
The establishment of the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce has also been greenlit. The taskforce emerged following discussions led by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence with Chief AI Officers from 27 government entities.

Unicorn 30 Programme Launched
Alongside the aforementioned initiatives, Sheikh Hamdan has also endorsed the Unicorn 30 Programme. Developed by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, this programme seeks to accelerate the growth of 30 promising startups in emerging sectors, guiding them toward becoming billion-dollar “unicorns” based in Dubai.
Launched under the auspices of Dubai Founders HQ, the Unicorn 30 Programme encompasses a set of 10 initiatives, including those focused on financing, growth, regulation, and governance. The goal is to bolster entrepreneurship, attract investment, and position Dubai as a premier global startup hub, enhancing its reputation in the digital economy landscape.

The Unicorn 30 Programme involves participation from 80 local and international companies, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that Dubai aims to cultivate within its startup ecosystem.
