Collaborative Success in Healthcare

The recently concluded Global Health Exhibition 2025 in Riyadh showcased a powerful commitment to collaboration and investment in global healthcare transformation. With over $35.5 billion in signed agreements and partnerships, the eighth edition of the exhibition underscored Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in the sector.

Held between October 27 and 30, under the theme “Invest in Health,” this year’s event attracted extensive international participation, reflecting a 54 percent increase in attendees compared to the previous year. Organized by Tahaluf and under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, the exhibition aligns closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program.

Major Deals and Partnerships

Abdulaziz bin Hamad AlRamaih, Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development, remarked during the closing ceremony on the scale and quality of the event. “For the second consecutive year, the Global Health Exhibition stands as the fastest-growing health event in the world,” he stated, emphasizing the exceptional quality of participants and attendees.

The private sector’s B2B interactions saw a sixfold increase compared to 2024. “This year’s event has generated remarkable attention from global investors and healthcare leaders,” AlRamaih added. Among the most significant announcements were:

  • $8.4 billion committed to enhancing hospital and healthcare infrastructure across Saudi Arabia.
  • $3.24 billion allocated to venture capital and strategic investment funds aimed at fostering innovation.
  • $625 million directed toward the development of the life sciences sector.

Partnerships were also spotlighted, particularly between leading organizations such as HUMAIN, Lean, and Google Cloud, marking a significant leap in building a digital health ecosystem in the Kingdom.

Evolving the Healthcare Landscape

The final day of the exhibition highlighted the importance of patient-centric innovation and economic models in healthcare. A panel discussion titled “Defining Value in Healthcare: Reimagining Care Models for 2035” featured global experts examining the evolution of value-based care.

Matthew Shaw, CEO of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, emphasized that “true healthcare value extends beyond immediate costs to include long-term social and economic benefits.” Dr. Majd Abu Zant, MD and CEO of Global Fertility, stressed the necessity for funding models to transition from activity-based to outcome-based approaches. He stated, “Healthcare value isn’t only about cost or efficiency; it’s about equity, access, and ensuring every patient receives the care they deserve.”

Spotlight on Next Generation Innovators

The exhibition also recognized emerging talents through two main competitions aimed at fostering innovation. The NextGen Pitch Competition, sponsored by Persivia, featured 20 startups from over 10 countries, awarding $26,660 to Exoheal, innovators behind a robotic glove designed to revolutionize rehabilitation for hand paralysis.

Additionally, the LiveWell Youth Competition, part of VIBE, Powered by LiveWell from the Ministry of Health, invited 117 student teams to develop solutions related to mental health, nutrition, and wellness. The team Vitrac was awarded top honors for their contributions, further highlighting Saudi Arabia’s dedication to supporting youth entrepreneurship and preventive healthcare initiatives.

Global Reach and Industry Engagement

This year’s Global Health Exhibition attracted more than 130,000 attendees, including 2,200 exhibiting brands and 607 speakers, with 307 international experts sharing insights on pressing healthcare challenges. This unprecedented engagement reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to becoming a key player in global health discourse.

The exhibition not only served as a platform for significant financial contracts but also reinforced Saudi Arabia’s strategic vision to redefine its healthcare sector through innovation and collaboration.

In summary, the success of the Global Health Exhibition 2025 reaffirms the commitment of the Saudi Ministry of Health to leading transformative healthcare initiatives while fostering global partnerships aimed at addressing the evolving needs of the industry.
