A Surprise Appearance
The “power of love” between music legends Adele and Celine Dion was palpable on Saturday night at Adele’s Las Vegas concert at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. During her performance of “Easy On Me,” Adele spotted Dion in the audience, and emotions overflowed as she walked offstage to greet her idol with a warm, tearful hug. The moment was met with roaring applause from the crowd.
A Tribute to an Icon
In an Instagram post following the concert, Adele shared a photo of their touching embrace, describing Dion’s presence as a “surprise.” Reflecting on the venue’s legacy, Adele wrote, “It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her… I love you so very very much. Words will never sum up what you mean to me, or what it felt like seeing you in your palace with your beautiful family.”
A Crowd United
So moved by the encounter, Adele briefly asked the audience to help finish singing the song. As Dion stood for a bow, Adele celebrated the “My Heart Will Go On” singer as “one of my favorite people of all time,” to which the crowd responded with cheers and applause.
