Diljit Dosanjh, the popular singer-actor, recently made his debut on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.” In a viral clip shared on Instagram, Diljit is seen teaching Jimmy Fallon how to speak Punjabi, creating a buzz among fans and celebrities.

The video begins with Jimmy Fallon and Diljit Dosanjh exchanging hugs. The caption on the clip reads, “Learning how to speak Punjabi with Diljit Dosanjh.” Diljit starts by teaching Jimmy the phrase “Punjabi agaye oye” (The Punjabi is here). Jimmy repeats the words enthusiastically. Next, Diljit folds his hands and says, “Sat Sri Akal,” a traditional Punjabi greeting, which Jimmy follows perfectly. Diljit, impressed by Jimmy’s efforts, responds with a delighted “Wow.”
Diljit appeared in a traditional outfit, donning a white kurta-pyjama, a matching turban, and a black half-jacket. The video ends with the duo laughing and hugging, showcasing their camaraderie.

Priyanka Chopra reacted to the video, saying, “It’s the Oye (hey) for me,” while producer Guneet Monga simply commented, “Punjabi.” Fans also shared their excitement, with one calling Diljit “a legend” and another noting, “Only star who can teach Punjabi to Hollywood.” The enthusiasm extended to Instagram users referring to Jimmy Fallon as “Jimmy Dhillon” in jest.
Diljit’s Announcement and Record-Breaking Achievements
Diljit shared a behind-the-scenes video from the show’s sets on Instagram, where he was seen preparing with his team. Announcing his appearance, he posted, “PANJABI AAGYE OYEE. This Week’s Guest,” along with a series of pictures. This appearance marks another milestone in Diljit’s illustrious career.
In April, Diljit made history as the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver’s BC Place stadium during his Dil-Luminati tour. He shared pictures from the sold-out concert on Instagram, celebrating this achievement.
Upcoming Projects
Diljit recently starred in Imtiaz Ali’s musical biopic “Amar Singh Chamkila,” alongside Parineeti Chopra. The film, which explores the life and struggles of the titular singer, was released on Netflix on April 12 and features an ensemble cast including Anjum Batra, Nisha Bano, and Apinderdeep Singh.
He is also gearing up for his next project, “Jatt & Juliet 3,” co-starring Neeru Bajwa. In this comedy-drama, both actors play cops, with Neeru portraying Diljit’s boss.
