In a recent interview with British Vogue, Kylie Jenner shared her experience of becoming a mother in her 20s and the challenges she faced with postpartum depression. Jenner, who shares two children, Stormi and Aire, with her ex-partner Travis Scott, candidly discussed how the condition affected her life after the birth of both of her children.
Kylie Jenner’s Struggles with Postpartum Depression

Reflecting on her journey, Jenner revealed that postpartum depression lasted for almost a year after each of her children’s births. She stated, “I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again. And [looking back], I think being pregnant, I wore sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year.” Jenner emphasized the mental and hormonal difficulties she faced, noting that the symptoms were even stronger the second time around, leading to what she described as “major baby blues.”
Challenges in Naming Her Son
During this challenging period, Kylie Jenner struggled with naming her son, a task that became overwhelming due to the emotional toll of postpartum depression. She recalled, “On the phone with my mom all day hysterically crying, saying, ‘I can’t figure out his name.’” Kylie Jenner advised her pregnant friends to choose a name before giving birth because “when the hormones hit, you can’t make decisions.”
Kylie Reveals She ‘Felt Like a Failure’
The 26-year-old billionaire shared that not being able to name her son left her feeling like a failure. She expressed, “I felt like such a failure that I couldn’t name him. He deserved so much more than that. It just really triggered me.”
Initially, her secondborn was named Knight, a name that her daughter Stormi occasionally brings up to tease her. The child was also briefly named Wolf Jaques, but Kylie later announced on Instagram that “Wolf” no longer felt like the right name for him. Finally, in January 2023, she revealed her son’s name to be Aire, sharing the news with a series of photos and a simple caption.
