Blaze Breaks Out in Under-Construction Area, No Injuries Reported
A large fire erupted at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi on Friday afternoon around 2 PM, sending thick black smoke over Yas Island near Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with Abu Dhabi Police sealing off routes around the theme park to facilitate firefighting efforts. Authorities confirmed that the fire originated in an under-construction section of the park and was successfully extinguished without any injuries.
Ongoing Expansion Project Unaffected
The incident occurred in an area under development as part of Miral’s expansion plans. Announced in December, the project will add 16,900 square meters to Yas Waterworld, introducing 18 new rides, 3.3km of slides, and the UAE’s highest waterslide.

Abu Dhabi Police confirmed on social media that the fire had been contained without casualties. Meanwhile, Zayed International Airport, located 12km from the site, reported no disruptions to its operations.
