Hanumankind Performs at ‘Modi and US’ Event
During his three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Kerala-born rapper Hanumankind and singer Aditya Gadhvi at the ‘Modi and US’ event. Held at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, the event attracted a crowd of 13,500, celebrating Indian culture and music.
Hanumankind, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, delivered a powerful performance, blending Texas-influenced sounds with desi hip-hop elements. The rapper, known for tracks like “Big Dawgs” and “Rush Hour”, impressed the audience, and videos of his performance quickly went viral online. After the show, PM Modi warmly greeted him, shaking hands and giving him a hug while saying, “Jai Hanuman.”
Aditya Gadhvi and Devi Sri Prasad Perform at the Event
Popular singer Aditya Gadhvi also took the stage at the event, performing his hit song “Khalasi”, which highlights the journey of sailors exploring Gujarat’s shores. His performance resonated deeply with the audience. Devi Sri Prasad, the composer known for his work in hit films like Pushpa: The Rise and Waltair Veerayya, also attended and met with PM Modi.
Traditional Music and Dance Add Cultural Flavor
In addition to the modern musical performances, the event included traditional Indian elements. Members of the Indian diaspora from Tamil Nadu showcased the traditional Parai drum, while a group performed Mallakhamb, a gymnastic art form from Maharashtra, outside the venue. The performances underscored the rich and diverse heritage of Indian music and dance.
PM Modi’s embrace of Indian artists at the event highlighted the growing global reach of Indian talent in mainstream entertainment.
