Reports Claim Momika Was Killed During a Live Stream
Salwan Momika, an anti-Islam activist known for burning the Quran multiple times, was reportedly shot dead inside his apartment in Sweden’s Hovsjö district on Wednesday night. However, official confirmation from the police is still awaited.
Momika Shot Inside His Apartment During TikTok Live?
According to local media reports and AFP, Momika was shot during a live TikTok video in his Södertälje residence, about 36 km from Stockholm. Swedish police arrived at the scene around 11 PM local time and have since detained multiple individuals for questioning.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, it is widely speculated that Momika had been targeted due to his Quran desecrations, which had sparked global outrage and death threats from radical groups.
Swedish Court Confirms Momika’s Death
The Stockholm District Court confirmed that a verdict scheduled for Thursday in a case where Momika was a defendant was postponed because one of the defendants had died. Judge Göran Lundahl later verified that the deceased was Salwan Momika, though he did not disclose the details of his death.

Following the shooting, the area surrounding Momika’s apartment has been cordoned off, and police are actively searching for the assailant(s). Press spokesman Daniel Wikdahl stated that the victim was found in an apartment and taken to the hospital, but no further details were provided.
