Recognition of Dubai International Airport’s Performance
During a recent visit to Dubai International Airport, Sheikh Hamdan commended the exceptional performance of the teams operating there. He acknowledged the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who serves as President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
Sheikh Hamdan, alongside Sheikh Ahmed, reviewed various operations at the airport, including the passenger services offered by Emirates. He also visited the Dubai Police operations center, where he was briefed on its role in enhancing travel safety through advanced smart services. The discussions included ongoing upgrades in smart technology aimed at improving efficiency, ensuring smooth passenger flow, and expediting travel procedures.

In addition to reviewing airport operations, Sheikh Hamdan acknowledged the significant contributions of Emirates Airline. He highlighted the airline’s extensive network, which connects Dubai to 123 destinations across 65 countries. His Highness praised the professionalism and dedication of the airline’s pilots and cabin crew, commending their consistent delivery of high-quality service.
A briefing on Emirates’ Network Operations Control Centre revealed the advanced technologies in use, including artificial intelligence and real-time geospatial mapping. These tools enable proactive monitoring of flight movements and weather conditions, ensuring efficient operations management and timely arrivals and departures.

Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Record Performance at Dubai International Airport
Dubai International Airport achieved a significant milestone in 2025, welcoming over 95 million passengers and maintaining its status as the world’s busiest international airport for the twelfth consecutive year. Total flight movements reached 454,800, marking a 3.3% increase year-on-year, which reflects sustained growth in network and capacity.
