Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 Launches with Bold Collections from Rizman Ruzaini, Heba Jasmi, and Krésha Bajaj
Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) commenced its Spring/Summer 2026 edition last night, showcasing a vibrant array of regional and international fashion talent. The event opened with a striking presentation by Malaysian designer duo Rizman Ruzaini, who unveiled their demi-couture collection, “RIMBA.” This was followed by Emirati designer Heba Jasmi’s collection, “Born to Rise,” and the international debut of Indian designer Krésha Bajaj with her line, “The Archive of Hidden Things.” The opening night highlighted DFW’s mission to serve as a global platform for cultural exchange, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Highlights from the Opening Night
The event, co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, runs through September 6. The opening night featured collections that drew inspiration from diverse cultural backgrounds, showcasing the power of fashion to transcend borders. Rizman Ruzaini’s “RIMBA” collection celebrated the lush rainforests of Southeast Asia, while Jasmi’s work redefined femininity through architectural elegance. Bajaj’s collection, known for its storytelling and sustainable design, marked her first international runway appearance.
Rizman Ruzaini: A Celebration of Nature and Culture
Rizman Ruzaini’s “RIMBA” collection opened the runway with a poignant blend of culture and couture. Celebrating the maison’s 20th anniversary, the collection drew heavily from Southeast Asia’s ancient rainforests. The designs reflected the serenity of flora, the vitality of fauna, and the resilience of the Malayan tiger. The palette featured deep greens and earthy tones, complemented by intricate embroidery that echoed the rainforest’s textures. Silhouettes were crafted to balance delicacy with strength, creating a harmonious representation of nature’s beauty.
Heba Jasmi: Redefining Femininity
Heba Jasmi’s collection, “Born to Rise,” presented a fresh perspective on femininity through sculptural tailoring and fluid elegance. The collection emphasized softness as a form of power, merging fluid silhouettes with precise structures. The color palette included gold, desert coral, mint jade, and midnight navy, celebrating women who command presence without the need for spectacle. Each made-to-order gown featured elements such as embroidered florals and crystal fringes, reflecting a dialogue between Arab heritage and contemporary couture.
Krésha Bajaj: A Narrative of Empowerment
Krésha Bajaj made her DFW debut with “The Archive of Hidden Things,” a prêt-à-porter collection infused with a couture essence. Known for her intricate bridal and eveningwear, Bajaj translated her signature craftsmanship into ready-to-wear pieces that marry artistry with practicality. The collection unfolded in three thematic chapters—Revelation, Obsession, and Liberation—exploring themes of concealment, expression, and empowerment. The silhouettes varied from soft, fluid forms to structured pieces, with a color palette that included blushes, charcoals, antique golds, and burnished coppers. Bajaj’s commitment to sustainable design was evident through small production runs and responsibly sourced fabrics.
Upcoming Shows and Partnerships
DFW continues today with collections from designers including FLTRD, Erick Bendana, Fioletowy, Chic & Holland, and Maison Novague. The event’s success is bolstered by strategic partnerships with leading global brands. SOUEAST serves as the automotive partner, while Dyson, Kiko Milano, and Waldorf Astoria are among the official partners for hair, makeup, and hospitality, respectively. The Italian Trade Agency acts as the main trade partner, and Meta is the primary media partner.
