AD Ports Group has announced a significant joint venture with CEI Supply Chain, a prominent logistics service provider in Pakistan. This collaboration follows closely on the heels of another partnership established with Tajikistan’s AVESTO Group just one day prior. The joint venture signing in Karachi marks a pivotal moment for both companies as they aim to enhance logistics capabilities across the region.
Strengthening Market Position
Under this new agreement, AD Ports Group will hold a 51 percent majority stake in the joint venture, thereby solidifying its foothold in Pakistan—a vital market in South Asia. This move is intended to facilitate the integration of the organization’s port services with comprehensive inland logistics networks. The new venture is scheduled to be integrated into the AD Ports Group framework by the first quarter of 2026.
Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, emphasized the importance of Pakistan as a trade gateway, stating, “Having secured key port infrastructure and initiated capacity upgrades, we are now entering the hinterland to offer fully integrated logistics solutions.”
Leveraging Infrastructure and Local Expertise
The strategic partnership aims to capitalize on CEI’s extensive operational footprint in Pakistan, which encompasses major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Islamabad. By combining local knowledge with global reach, the joint venture seeks to capture a notable segment of the market, especially in high-demand sectors such as automotive, retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and energy.
The JV will benefit from strong access to clients nationwide while laying the groundwork for further market penetration. CEI Supply Chain, established in 1995, has built a reputation as a leading freight forwarder offering end-to-end logistics solutions, including comprehensive air and ocean freight services, customs brokerage, and specialized distribution networks across various industries.

The focus of this collaboration is not merely to expand operations but also to enhance overall efficiency for clients in Pakistan. “This joint venture allows us to bridge the gap between port and final consumer, driving efficiency for our customers, and supporting our vision of developing Pakistan as a regional hub for the Middle Corridor and Central Asian markets,” added Al Shamsi.
The partnership aims to position itself as a leading integrated trade enabler, enhancing the standard of logistics services available in the country. This joint venture is part of AD Ports Group’s ongoing expansion strategy in Pakistan, which has included significant investments in key port infrastructure. To date, the organization has committed US$295 million towards developing and enhancing its terminals in Karachi. A recent long-term agreement with a leading agricultural goods processor for the creation of a clean bulk storage facility at Karachi Port exemplifies the group’s commitment to advancing its operational capabilities.
