Apple has announced macOS Sequoia, the next major version of the Mac operating system. Versioned as macOS Sequoia 15, this future software update includes intriguing new features such as iPhone Mirroring, a host of AI features called Apple Intelligence, the inclusion of a Passwords app, enhanced window tiling, new Safari features, and more.

iPhone Mirroring on the Mac
macOS Sequoia introduces an all-new iPhone Mirroring feature as part of the Continuity feature set. With iPhone Mirroring, users can wirelessly mirror their iPhone display on their Mac and interact with it using the Mac cursor and keyboard. This allows for full access and usage of iPhone apps directly from the Mac. Additionally, iPhone notifications can be received through Notification Center on the Mac.
Apple Intelligence / AI
Apple has integrated a suite of AI features into macOS Sequoia, branded as Apple Intelligence. Key capabilities include:
Writing Tools: Offering text rewriting, summarization, proofreading, and more across major apps like Safari, Notes, Pages, and Mail.
Article Summarization: Summarise articles to get a quick gist without reading the full content.
Image Generation: The new Image Playground feature allows users to generate images based on text descriptions, similar to DALL-E.
Siri with ChatGPT Integration
Siri is now integrated with ChatGPT, enhancing its ability to answer questions directly without redirecting to web searches. This integration allows Siri to generate responses to queries more effectively.
Enhanced Window Tiling
macOS Sequoia makes window tiling easier with automatic snapping of windows into position, streamlining the process of creating window grids.
Passwords App
A new Passwords app breaks out the Keychain and iCloud Keychain feature into an individual app, simplifying the management and access of saved login credentials. This app is also available for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and iCloud for Windows.
