Doha Fashion Show Sets Dates for New Season
Upcoming Event Overview
The Doha Fashion Show is set to return at the end of January, marking an exciting new season in the Qatari fashion calendar. Scheduled from January 19 to 21, this year’s event will take place at The St Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar. It promises an impressive lineup of runway shows featuring both regional and international designers across a packed three-day schedule.
Supporting Regional Talent
One of the core missions of the Doha Fashion Show is to nurture and elevate Qatari and regional talents. The event is in collaboration with Dubai Fashion Week, aiming to spotlight emerging designers within the local fashion scene. Since its inception in 2022, the Doha Fashion Show has positioned itself as a leading platform for Qatari fashion, showcasing over 70 designers from around the globe.
Tiffany McNair, the show’s creative director and chief executive, elaborated on the event’s vision: “We created this platform for cultural exchange. As Qatar continues to invest in creativity and global dialogue, we’re proud to contribute to an ecosystem that brings regional voices into conversation with international fashion and design.”
Prominent Regional Designers
Regional brands will play a significant role at this year’s show. Veronica Manzo Couture, a Qatar-based label founded by Italian designer Veronica Manzo, will feature elegant evening wear characterized by its structured and redefined aesthetics. Manzo emphasizes that her designs represent a shift toward a more defined elegance, stating, “It’s structured. Sharpened. Redefined.”
Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning fashion scene is also well-represented. The brand Awaken, known for its streetwear-inspired collections for both men and women, will return to the event. With a marked presence at both the Doha Fashion Show and Riyadh Fashion Week, Awaken is recognized for its unique use of patchworked, printed, and padded designs.
Another highlight from Saudi Arabia is Filly Paris, a women’s ready-to-wear brand. The label recently garnered attention stemming from its founder’s high-profile connections, including a vacation in Morocco with a global celebrity. The founder, who operates under the online moniker La Cavaliere Elegante, is known for both her distinctive fashion sensibility and her equestrian skills, often appearing in her designs while on horseback.
Featuring Renowned International Designers
The Doha Fashion Show will also host various acclaimed international brands. Nicholas Oakwell Couture, based in the UK, is recognized for its work with numerous celebrities on the red carpet. The label’s past collections have showcased stunning pieces, including a gown opening the Tsumani line adorned with a long train of ostrich feathers. Oakwell’s designs have been worn by figures like Karlie Kloss and Helen Mirren, making it a staple in prestigious fashion circles.
American designer Pia Lindsay is also making her mark by introducing vibrant collections to the fashion scene in Qatar. Known for her bold color palette, with past collections featuring shades such as burnt orange and fuchsia pink, her upcoming offerings are expected to attract attention and celebrate diverse fashion aesthetics.
The Doha Fashion Show’s commitment to showcasing both regional and global designers solidifies its status as a vital platform in the fashion industry.
