Drake’s “Janice STFU” Surges to Top Streaming Spot Among New Releases
Drake has made headlines in the streaming world this week with the release of three new albums: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti. Among the 43 tracks featured, “Janice STFU” has emerged as the standout favorite, dominating both Spotify and Apple Music’s U.S. daily streaming charts.
Streaming Success of “Janice STFU”
Since its release on May 16, “Janice STFU” has quickly ascended to the top of the charts. Initial data from Luminate indicated that the album opener, “Make Them Cry,” garnered 14.1 million streams on its first day. However, by the following day, “Janice STFU” had overtaken it with over 6.2 million streams, narrowly edging out “Ran 2 Atlanta,” which features Future and Molly Santana.
As of May 22, “Janice” continued to lead with 5.4 million daily plays. The track has resonated with fans, producers, and even NBA MVPs, marking it as a potential contender for the top spot on next week’s Billboard Hot 100.
Yung Miami’s Breakout with “Spend Dat”
Yung Miami is also making waves with her new solo track “Spend Dat,” which has been co-signed by notable artists Fat Joe and Jadakiss. Released on April 24, the song has quickly gained traction on social media, particularly on TikTok, where it has inspired a viral dance challenge.
In the week of May 1-7, “Spend Dat” achieved over 1 million official on-demand U.S. streams, a figure that soared by 107% to over 2.23 million in the following week. The song’s catchy hook and relatable themes of contemporary romance have contributed to its rising popularity.
Noah Kahan’s “Orbiter” Gains Momentum
Noah Kahan’s album The Great Divide has also captured attention, with the song “Orbiter” emerging as a breakout bonus track. The album’s debut week saw all 17 tracks chart on the Hot 100, alongside four additional bonus cuts. While many tracks have experienced a decline in streams, “Orbiter” has gained traction, thanks in part to its popularity on TikTok.
The song’s on-demand U.S. audio streams increased from 4.6 million in the week ending April 30 to 6.7 million by May 14, marking a 46% gain since its release. “Orbiter” has climbed from No. 79 to No. 56 on the Hot 100, signaling its potential for further success.
PinkPantheress Celebrates Streaming Success
PinkPantheress is celebrating the first anniversary of her mixtape Fancy That with the release of the music video for “Girl Like Me.” The track has seen a significant increase in streaming activity, jumping from just over 1 million streams in mid-April to over 2.85 million by the week of May 8-14.
The song has also gained traction on TikTok, where a mashup with Snow Strippers’ “Under Your Spell” has been featured in over 125,000 clips. “Girl Like Me” currently ranks as a No. 13 hit on Billboard’s Dance/Pop Songs chart, further solidifying PinkPantheress’s impact in the music industry.
