Dubai Airports Open; Emirates Expands Operations to 110 Destinations Amid Ongoing Flight Cancellations

Despite the ongoing challenges in global air travel, Emirates has announced a reduced flight schedule to over 110 destinations, with plans to resume full operations shortly. Emirates and Other Airlines Adjust Operations
Emirates has implemented a reduced schedule, allowing for travel to more than 110 destinations. Passengers are advised to check their flight status within one hour of departure. For booking support, Emirates requests that customers utilize their official channels and refrain from disclosing booking details publicly.
Flydubai is also operating a limited schedule across its network. Passengers who booked flights between February 28 and March 31 can rebook to the same destination within 30 days without incurring penalties. For the latest updates, travelers should refer to Flydubai’s official website.
Etihad Airways has published an updated flight schedule valid through March 16. Tickets issued on or before February 28 for travel up to March 21 can be rebooked at no additional cost until May 15. Refund requests for flights until March 21 can be submitted online or through travel agents.
Air Arabia is operating limited flights from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah to select destinations, including Vienna, Cairo, and Bangkok, through March 22. Passengers whose flights were canceled can opt for a free date change, a full credit voucher, or a full refund.
International Airlines Facing Cancellations
Air Canada has canceled all flights from Toronto to Dubai until at least May 1. The airline is increasing capacity on its Delhi route to provide alternative connections to Canada.
Virgin Atlantic has suspended its Dubai service for the remainder of the winter season, extending through March 28. British Airways has canceled all flights to Dubai, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, and Tel Aviv until the end of March, with no official resumption date announced. Services to Abu Dhabi are also suspended until later this year.
Oman Air has canceled flights to and from several cities, including Amman and Dubai, through March 22. Air France has suspended all flights to and from Dubai through March 14, with the return flight scheduled for March 15 also canceled. Affected passengers have been notified and may postpone or cancel their flights without charge.
China Southern Airlines resumed select routes from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to Dubai from March 8 to March 11, but no updates have been provided for flights beyond those dates.
Ongoing Restrictions and Passenger Guidelines
Qatar Airways continues to suspend regular commercial operations due to the closure of Qatari airspace. A limited schedule is in place to support affected travelers. Passengers with confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 28 can make two complimentary date changes or request a refund.
Lufthansa Group has canceled all scheduled flights to and from Dubai through March 15. Passengers holding Lufthansa tickets issued on or before March 1 for travel between March 16 and March 26 may request a refund.
KLM has also canceled all flights to Dubai through March 28. Affected passengers can rebook at no additional charge or request a refund via their website.
United Airlines has announced that passengers who purchased tickets on or before February 28 for travel between March 8 and April 19 may reschedule without fees. Those who cancel entirely are eligible for a full refund.
Air India and Air India Express are operating a total of 80 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from the region. This includes services from Delhi and Mumbai, as well as connections to Bengaluru and Chennai.
IndiGo has canceled 97 flights due to airspace restrictions and is operating a reduced schedule to select Middle Eastern destinations. The airline has also implemented a fuel surcharge on new bookings made after March 14.
Finnair has canceled all flights to Dubai through March 29, while Norwegian is currently assessing its resumption status. Cathay Pacific has suspended all flights to Dubai through the end of March. Philippine Airlines has also suspended its Manila-Dubai route through March 16, allowing affected passengers to rebook or request refunds.
Singapore Airlines has canceled flights to Dubai through March 15. Turkish Airlines and its subsidiaries have lifted cancellations that were in effect through March 13, and passengers should check directly with each carrier for confirmed resumption status.
Current Airspace Status and Passenger Access
UAE airspace is partially open, with flights operating through restricted corridors amid ongoing air defense engagements. Passengers are advised to confirm their bookings before traveling to the airport and should not attempt to travel without direct confirmation from their airline.
