This year, the Diwali celebrations in Dubai have commenced with an array of entertainment options, ranging from spectacular fireworks displays to star-studded concerts. The Festival of Lights officially kicked off on the evening of October 17, 2025, and will last until October 26. Mohammed Feras, a senior executive at the local events organization, emphasized the spirit of joy and community that characterizes Diwali in Dubai. “This year’s celebrations are bigger and brighter. The entire city will glow with festive lights, music, and community spirit,” he stated. The agenda includes breathtaking fireworks and attractive shopping deals, allowing everyone to experience the true essence of the festival.
Feras highlighted that the total prize pool for this year’s Diwali promotions is nearly Dh500,000. He added, “This Diwali promises not just happiness and celebration, but also rewarding experiences for everyone.”
Cultural Exchange and Community Solidarity
The consul general of India in Dubai remarked on the significance of the festival, noting how it reflects the cultural exchange between India and the UAE. “It’s heartening to see Indian traditions celebrated on such a grand scale, embraced by people of all nationalities,” he said.
He expressed gratitude towards the leadership for creating opportunities that strengthen cultural ties and foster cooperation. “Events like these bring communities closer and create avenues for bilateral trade, tourism, and mutual growth,” he added.
Fireworks and Concerts Kick Off Celebrations
The festivities launched on Friday with an impressive fireworks display at Souk Al Seef, drawing crowds eager to celebrate the occasion. Weekend shows at Global Village are scheduled for October 17-18 and October 24-25, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere.
Residents throughout the city have been enjoying the displays, capturing the spectacular fireworks from their balconies. The entertainment lineup features prominent performances such as Ilaiyaraja’s concert at Dubai Opera and a comedic act by Russell Peters at Coca-Cola Arena on October 25.
Cultural Events and Performances
Souk Al Seef will also host the Noor – Festival of Lights from October 17 to 19, showcasing free cultural performances and live music. On October 24 and 25, Dubai Festival Plaza will present “Lights and Legends: The Stories of Diwali,” combining music, poetry, and dance to create a captivating experience for attendees.
Shopping Discounts and Promotions
Shoppers are in for a treat, with discounts of up to 75 percent available across major retail brands, including supermarkets and luxury stores. Key shopping centers like City Centre Deira, Bur Juman, and WAFI City are actively participating by organizing Diwali-themed events, cultural performances, and children’s workshops.
City Centre Deira will be particularly notable for its innovative Escalator Fashion Show on October 25, showcasing a unique blend of retail and entertainment.

True to Diwali traditions, jewellery stores across Dubai are offering exclusive promotions on gold purchases. The Dubai Jewellery Group has launched a campaign that allows shoppers to win a portion of Dh150,000 in jewellery vouchers alongside opportunities for free gold coins and significant discounts on select designs.
Shoppers visiting the Dubai Gold Souk Extension can take part in a special campaign that enables them to shop, scan, and win gold prizes until October 26.
