Dubai-it Award Opens Nominations for Inaugural Edition, Celebrating Exceptional Achievements Across the Emirate
Dubai has announced the opening of nominations for the inaugural Dubai-it Award, which will run from August 10 to September 10, 2026. This initiative invites individuals, projects, companies, and institutions that exemplify Dubai’s commitment to transforming ambitious ideas into world-class results characterized by speed, excellence, and impactful outcomes.
The award was established under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. It aims to honor those who have embodied the essence of “Dubai-it” by achieving remarkable results with precision and efficiency.
The Dubai-it Award is part of a broader initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This initiative seeks to institutionalize Dubai’s development model and work philosophy, which is rooted in ambition, innovation, rapid execution, and measurable impact.
Celebrating Achievement
The Dubai-it Award is designed to recognize individuals and organizations that have successfully transformed bold ideas into tangible achievements, thereby accelerating development and delivering meaningful results across various sectors.
His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasized that the award draws inspiration from Dubai’s development journey and leadership vision. He stated that the award reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his exceptional leadership in turning significant ideas into extraordinary accomplishments.
Al Gergawi noted that the launch of the award by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum establishes the Dubai-it philosophy as a cultural norm within institutions and companies, promoting excellence, distinction, and speed in project development and delivery. He added that the award serves as an annual platform to sustain Dubai’s work philosophy and inspire future generations of achievers.
Three Main Categories
The award will be presented in three principal categories, which include:
- Institutions and Companies: This category will recognize outstanding achievements that align with Dubai’s values of ambition, excellence, rapid execution, and transformational impact.
Ten Strategic Sectors
The award encompasses ten key areas that reflect Dubai’s development model. These sectors have been carefully selected to highlight initiatives that have made a lasting impact on both society and the economy.
Nominations Open to All
Nominations for the Dubai-it Award are open to self-nominations as well as nominations from companies, institutions, organizations, and third parties. Applications can be submitted through the official digital platform at www.dubai-it.ae.
For this inaugural edition, nominations will focus on achievements, projects, initiatives, and transformations completed over the past four years. Starting from the second cycle, nominations will be limited to achievements finalized within the previous 24 months.
Eight Evaluation Criteria
Entries will be assessed based on eight criteria derived from the Dubai-it philosophy:
- Quality and mastery of execution
- Speed and efficiency of implementation
- Adoption of Dubai’s work philosophy
- Ability to transform vision into results
- Sustainability and scalability
- Inspirational value of the achievement
Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive nomination file detailing their achievement, the implementation process, outcomes, and measurable impact, supported by evidence such as performance indicators, reports, media materials, and other relevant documentation.
Annual Celebration of Excellence
The Dubai-it Award will function as a year-round program, running from September to May, culminating in an annual awards ceremony that honors exceptional achievements contributing to Dubai’s ongoing development. Organizers have stated that the initiative aims not only to celebrate success but also to document impact, elevate ambitions, and showcase the individuals, projects, and organizations shaping Dubai’s future through innovation, determination, and exceptional execution.
