Ambitious Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033
Dubai has introduced a comprehensive Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, aiming to position the emirate as the premier global destination for sports within the next decade. The initiative focuses on enhancing Dubai’s sports economy and fostering increased community engagement in sports activities.
The plan is designed to contribute over AED 18 billion to the emirate’s GDP while targeting an active participation of 2.6 million residents in sports by 2033. This ambitious strategy was officially announced by the Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council during a recent event at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
Commitment to Local Talent and Community Engagement
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized that the plan showcases Dubai’s commitment to developing a dynamic and innovative sports ecosystem. The strategy encompasses a total of 75 initiatives organized around four key pillars: Community, Events, Clubs, and Talent. These initiatives will cater to a wide array of sports, including padel, esports, cricket, and golf.
“Through this plan, we aim to empower both public and private clubs to meet international standards, broaden community participation, and develop world-class facilities that reflect Dubai’s ambitions,” Sheikh Mansoor stated.

As part of the launch, Sheikh Mansoor revealed a new sports identity for Dubai, symbolizing the city’s aspirations on the global sporting stage. The emblem was meticulously chosen from thousands of public submissions, representing a fresh chapter for sports within the emirate.
