This remarkable achievement represents over a 20 percent year-on-year increase in daily services, positioning the Abu Dhabi-based airline as one of the fastest-growing full-service carriers in the world.

Growth Trajectory and Operational Excellence
Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer at Etihad Airways, remarked on the airline’s expansion. “We are expanding the destinations we serve, the fleet we operate, and our talented workforce, all towards our goal of making Etihad the airline everyone wants to fly.” This statement reflects a dedication to accelerating growth in the airline industry, fueled by a commitment from staff and the loyalty of travelers.

Record Passenger Growth Reports
In September 2025, Etihad’s passenger numbers surged, with the airline carrying 1.9 million travelers—a 21 percent increase compared to the same month in 2024. The airline maintained an impressive load factor of 89 percent during this period, highlighting its capacity to meet growing demand.
During the first nine months of 2025, Etihad transported 16.1 million passengers, reflecting an 18 percent year-on-year increase. This growth appears to be propelled by effective network deployment and sustained demand for air travel.
Etihad continues to enhance the guest experience, achieving record satisfaction levels and maintaining a consistently high Net Promoter Score. Upgrades to airport services, digital platforms, and onboard offerings align with its mission to deliver operational excellence alongside genuine hospitality.
Expansion of Network and Fleet
Etihad’s achievement of 300 daily flights coincides with a significant growth phase for the airline. In September 2025, network capacity experienced a 25 percent year-on-year increase, driven by an ambitious expansion strategy. The airline has either launched or announced 31 new destinations this year, which include cities like Medan, Phnom Penh, Addis Ababa, and Krabi, bringing its global network to nearly 90 destinations.
Europe remains a focal point for growth; flights across the continent increased by 35 percent this summer compared to 2024. A substantial expansion in the operating fleet supports this network growth, with Etihad’s total number of aircraft rising to 115, up from 96 a year prior.
The fleet now includes new Airbus A350s, 787 Dreamliners, two returning A380s, and new A321LRs, the latter being equipped with private First Suites and lie-flat Business Class seats, setting new standards for premium travel.
Enhancements in Airport Connectivity
Zayed International Airport (ZIA) plays a crucial role in supporting Etihad’s operational growth. With the capacity to handle 45 million passengers annually across 65 gates, ZIA incorporates advanced biometric systems and streamlined processes. Passengers can navigate from kerb to gate in as little as 12 minutes. Enhanced premium lounges and upgraded facilities further heighten the travel experience at the airport.
Commitment to Workforce Development
In alignment with its growth strategy, Etihad Airways has hired 1,700 new employees in the first half of 2025, which includes over 100 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew members. The airline also promoted more than 1,100 staff, indicating a strong investment in its workforce.
To support the development of Emirati professionals, Etihad introduced its UAE National Talent Strategy earlier this year. This initiative aims to attract and cultivate Emirati talent across various divisions, from flight operations to corporate leadership. Dedicated career tracks for pilots, engineers, airport managers, and corporate roles aim to double the Emirati workforce over the next five years, ensuring that UAE nationals play a central role in the airline’s future success.
