Dubai: Passenger services on Etihad Rail are set to commence tomorrow, with trains initially operating on the Abu Dhabi to Fujairah route. This guide provides essential information regarding ticket prices, station locations, and other key services for travelers.
Which Stations Are Opening?
The inaugural stations for public access are located in Fujairah and Abu Dhabi:
Abu Dhabi Station
The Abu Dhabi station, named Mohamed bin Zayed City station, is situated opposite Dalma Mall.
Fujairah Station
The Fujairah station is located in Al Hilal City, adjacent to the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.
Ticket Cost
Tickets for the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah route start at AED 55, with premium class tickets priced at AED 120. Passengers can choose from three options within the basic ‘comfort’ ticket category:

- Morning Trip: Departs from Fujairah station at 5:34 AM, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 7:19 AM.
- Afternoon Trip: Departs from Fujairah station at 10:59 AM, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 12:44 PM.
- Evening Trip: Departs from Fujairah station at 5:28 PM, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 7:13 PM.
For the Abu Dhabi to Fujairah route:
- Morning Trip: Departs from Abu Dhabi station at 8:19 AM, arriving in Fujairah at 10:04 AM.
- Afternoon Trip: Departs from Abu Dhabi station at 1:53 PM, arriving in Fujairah at 3:38 PM.

How to Book an Etihad Rail Ticket
Tickets can be booked via the Etihad Rail website at www.etihadrail.ae or through the ‘Etihad Rail’ mobile application, available for both Apple and Android devices. The booking process involves the following steps:
- Select the station route – either ‘Abu Dhabi – Fujairah’ or ‘Fujairah – Abu Dhabi’.
- Choose the travel date.
- Select a suitable time slot from the available options.
- Choose your ticket type – saver, value, flex, or premium.
- Complete the payment.
Passengers using the app will receive a digital ticket, while those booking through the website will receive an email confirmation that can be shown at the station. Tickets purchased at the station via vending machines will be issued as paper tickets.
Baggage Allowance
Each passenger is permitted to carry up to two items of luggage free of charge, irrespective of the ticket type. Additional baggage requests must be made in advance. It is essential to label luggage clearly with the passenger’s name and contact details. Luggage should be stored safely in overhead racks, ensuring aisles, doors, and emergency exits remain unobstructed.
Maximum dimensions: 55 cm (H) × 40 cm (W) × 23 cm (D).
Cancellation/Ticket Change Policy
For passengers holding value, flex, or premium tickets, changes to bookings can be made under the following conditions:
Value: Unlimited free changes are allowed up to 72 hours prior to the train’s scheduled departure. After this period, each change incurs a fee of AED 20, plus any fare difference.
Flex: Unlimited free changes are permitted up to 30 minutes after the scheduled departure. If a ticket is canceled 24 hours before departure, a full refund is issued. A 30% cancellation fee applies for cancellations on the day of travel.
Are Pets Allowed?
Etihad Rail permits passengers to travel with domestic pets, including dogs and falcons, provided they are transported in an approved carrier with maximum dimensions of 55 cm × 40 cm × 23 cm. The pet carrier counts as part of the carry-on luggage allowance, meaning passengers cannot bring both a pet carrier and a separate carry-on bag. Pets must remain in their carriers and under the passenger’s control at all times. Only one pet carrier per passenger is allowed. Trained and certified Assistance Dogs are permitted but must be booked in advance through the contact center at +971 4518 2050, available daily from 5 AM to 11 PM.
Shuttle Bus Services
Shuttle bus services are available to assist passengers with their last-mile journey in Abu Dhabi. These services must be booked in advance through the app or website and are not available for booking at the station. The shuttle operates three times daily, with the following schedule for the Abu Dhabi shuttle bus:
Shuttle to Mohamed bin Zayed Station
The shuttle service connects three key locations – Reem Mall, ADNOC headquarters, and ADNEC Centre to the Mohamed bin Zayed station.
Morning Schedule:
- Reem Mall – 7:04 AM
- ADNOC HQ (Corniche) – 7:14 AM
- ADNEC Centre – 7:29 AM
Arrival at Mohamed bin Zayed station is at 7:49 AM.
Afternoon Schedule:
- Reem Mall – 12:38 PM
- ADNOC HQ (Corniche) – 12:48 PM
- ADNEC Centre – 1:03 PM
