Forrest Frank Strengthens Worship Experience with Hits at ‘The Jesus Generation’ Tour in Nashville
Contemporary Christian artist Forrest Frank captivated a packed audience at Nashville’s GEODIS Park on June 19 during his headlining performance for The Jesus Generation Tour. The concert featured a blend of Frank’s upbeat hits and classic worship songs, aimed at uplifting the spirits of attendees.
A Night of Worship and Celebration
Frank opened the show with the tour’s namesake song, “The Jesus Generation,” before transitioning into a series of popular tracks, including “Amen,” “Good Day,” and “Up!” The audience, consisting largely of families and youth groups, engaged enthusiastically, singing and dancing along. Many attendees wore wristbands that illuminated in various colors throughout the performance.
In 2025, Frank’s sold-out Child of God Tour Part 2 filled Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. This year, he elevated his performance to GEODIS Park, welcoming 25,000 fans to the open-air venue. Joined by opening acts Tori Kelly and The Figs, Frank delivered a nearly two-hour set that solidified his status as a leading figure in Contemporary Christian Music (CCM).
Connecting with a New Generation
Frank first gained national recognition as part of the pop duo Surfaces before establishing himself as a prominent artist in the Christian music scene. His unique blend of hip-hop and pop, combined with a strong social media presence, has resonated with younger audiences. His 2024 album, Child of God, topped the Top Christian Albums chart and made its way onto the Billboard 200. The follow-up project, Child of God II, debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart and reached No. 12 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
During the concert, Frank seamlessly transitioned from one hit to another, including his recent chart-topping single “Jesus Is Alive!” which achieved the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart in just two weeks. This marked his tenth entry into the top 10 of the chart.
Honoring Family and Faith
Frank took a moment during the concert to honor his late grandparents, who had a significant influence on his life. He shared a memory of his grandmother, describing her as a “prayer warrior” who prayed over him in a language he didn’t understand as a child. He reflected on the impact of those prayers, stating, “There are a lot of reasons I shouldn’t be here today and a lot of reasons you shouldn’t be here today, but here we are. Could it be that we are here today because somebody prayed for us?” This heartfelt moment preceded his performance of the unreleased song “Somebody Prayed.”
Engaging the Audience
Throughout the evening, Frank maintained a strong connection with the audience. He walked through the crowd, greeting fans as he made his way to a satellite piano stage. There, he performed “No Longer Bound” and “Thankful,” ensuring that even those at the back of the venue felt included in the experience. Frank also offered fans a glimpse into his songwriting process, sharing insights while using his laptop.
As he began to perform “Your Way’s Better,” the audience took over, singing the majority of the song a cappella. Frank joined in, and many fans participated in the viral dance that contributed to the song’s popularity.
A Focus on Worship
The setlist featured a mix of Frank’s hits and classic worship songs, creating an atmosphere conducive to worship. The stage was designed to resemble a grassy hill, with a prominent, illuminated cross at its center. Frank led the crowd in worship songs, including “Lord You Are Good,” before transitioning into his own track “Celebration.” He even invited a concert-goer to perform a rap verse from Caleb Gordon’s song “God Is Good.”
Midway through the concert, Frank shifted gears to lead the audience in several worship hymns, such as the classic “Heart of Worship” and the newer hit “Goodness of God.” During this segment, he knelt at the base of the cross, encouraging the crowd to join him in song, transforming the concert into a worship service.
A Grand Finale
As the show neared its conclusion, The Figs’ Bailey and Micah energized the crowd while Frank surprised fans by appearing in the upper sections of the venue. With audience wristbands glowing in vivid yellow, he joined The Figs for their hit “Lemonade” and closed the night with his energetic track “Never Get Used to This.”
From the opening notes to the final chorus, Frank kept the multi-generational audience engaged. His concerts have become notable experiences, particularly for families seeking a shared musical mission.
