Fuerza Regida’s JOP and Label CEO Jimmy Humilde Intensify Legal Battle with Fiery Instagram Exchanges
Fuerza Regida frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz, known as JOP, and Rancho Humilde CEO Jimmy Humilde have escalated their ongoing legal dispute into the realm of social media. On June 28, both parties took to Instagram to express their frustrations regarding the protracted litigation surrounding their contractual relationship. For nearly a year, the popular música mexicana group and their label have been embroiled in a legal battle over contract terms.
Legal Dispute Background
Fuerza Regida is currently seeking to terminate its record deal with Rancho Humilde, alleging that the label has withheld royalties and is attempting to undermine the band’s success. In contrast, Rancho Humilde asserts that the contract remains valid and claims that Fuerza Regida has breached the agreement by collaborating with other artists without the label’s consent and excluding it from lucrative deals with major companies like Apple Music and Live Nation.
JOP’s Instagram post referenced these ongoing issues, including allegations that Rancho Humilde prevented the band from performing at the FIFA World Cup and being featured in the official soundtrack for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
“To everyone who supports Fuerza Regida: You deserve to hear our music,” JOP stated. “You deserved to see us perform at the World Cup. You deserved to listen to us on the MLB album. You deserve to celebrate every release, every accomplishment, and every chapter of our journey. Instead, our music keeps disappearing.”
JOP’s Commitment to Fans
In his post, JOP emphasized the band’s dedication to their fans, declaring, “We’ve never stopped making music. We’ve never stopped fighting for you. Everyone knows what’s going on; you’ve seen it in the media. That’s why I’m going to let justice do its job. Everyone is going to know who you really are.”
JOP concluded his message with a Spanish idiom, “EL QUE NADA DEBE, NADA TEME,” which translates to “he who has nothing to hide has nothing to fear.” He urged fans to voice their opinions regarding Rancho Humilde and its CEO, promising that their story is not over.
Humilde’s Response
In a swift response, Jimmy Humilde addressed JOP directly, asserting that he has always supported Fuerza Regida. He recounted how he facilitated a larger deal for the band, fought for their masters, and dedicated significant resources to help them achieve their dreams. “You walked away with the biggest check of your life, over $50 million. I never complained. I was happy to see you win because your success was our success,” Humilde stated.
He expressed disappointment that their collaborative efforts have been reduced to a public narrative that does not reflect the full story. Humilde urged JOP to honor their contractual agreement, stating, “If you believe people deserve the truth, then honor the agreement we made. Complete the contract the same way I honored every commitment I made to you.”
Allegations of Misconduct
In a separate post, Humilde suggested that JOP has mistreated his bandmates and artists associated with his label, Street Mob Records. He tagged Fuerza Regida members José García and Samuel Jaimez, as well as artists from Street Mob, including Chino Pacas, Calle 24, and Armenta.
“Let’s talk about your own band members who went from partners to being employees,” Humilde remarked. He reminded JOP of the $15 million deal he helped secure for the label and questioned how JOP has chosen to treat his artists since then.
Legal Representation’s Statement
Rancho Humilde’s attorney, Michael Trauben, emphasized that the label has never intended to prevent Fuerza Regida from creating music. He stated that the lawsuit’s position is that opportunities should proceed through the agreed-upon distribution and approval structure. “Every exclusive agreement is built on one fundamental promise: if a company invests years of work and millions of dollars developing an artist, the artist agrees to release music through the agreed distribution channels,” Trauben explained.
He added that no artist, regardless of their success, can simply disregard the terms of their contract and independently release recordings at will.
Current Status of the Lawsuit
Representatives for Fuerza Regida did not respond to requests for comment regarding the ongoing situation. The lawsuit remains in its early stages, with a judge currently considering Rancho Humilde’s motion to dismiss some of Fuerza Regida’s claims. Following this decision, both parties will enter the discovery phase, where they will exchange evidence before potentially moving to trial, unless a settlement is reached beforehand.
