GITEX Expands to India and Brazil as UAE Tech Brand Goes Global
GITEX Expands Global Footprint
GITEX, the UAE’s premier technology and artificial intelligence exhibition, is set to expand its reach with new events in India and Brazil. This initiative aims to connect some of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies within a single, expansive network. The announcement was made at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, where organizers confirmed the introduction of GITEX Ai India and GITEX LATAM, both scheduled for debut in 2027.
This expansion represents a significant milestone for the UAE as it seeks to establish itself as a central hub for international innovation. The events are designed to foster connections among emerging technology ecosystems across Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
Launch of GITEX LATAM in São Paulo, Brazil
The inaugural GITEX LATAM will occur on March 16-17, 2027, at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, organized in collaboration with local strategic partners. The announcement coincides with Brazil’s role as a Country Partner at this year’s event in Dubai, where a delegation of over 50 startups and innovation hubs is participating.
The LATAM edition aims to serve as a crucial gateway for the digital transformation of Latin America. It is expected to convene startups, investors, and global enterprises from key sectors such as artificial intelligence, agritech, cybersecurity, data centers, healthtech, and renewable energy.
Ricardo Nunes, the Mayor of São Paulo, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “Hosting GITEX LATAM will connect pioneering startups, unicorns, and influential enterprises with international markets, unlocking capital and forging partnerships on the world stage.” São Paulo, having attracted $33.5 billion in venture capital over the past decade, is positioned as a leader in Latin America’s innovation landscape.
Trixie LohMirmand, the Executive Vice President of the organizing body, highlighted that GITEX LATAM “will integrate Latin America with the limitless digital universe, unlocking unprecedented access to capital, knowledge, tech, and talent.” This initiative also follows the recent celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Brazil, with both nations committing to deeper cooperation in artificial intelligence and renewable energy during the upcoming G20 Summit.
GITEX Ai India Set for Launch in Bengaluru, Karnataka
Simultaneously, GITEX Ai India is scheduled to launch in April 2027 in Bengaluru, a city known for its robust tech sector. The event will be hosted by the Government of Karnataka’s Department of Electronics, IT and Biotechnology, complementing India’s ambitious tech growth projections. The Indian technology sector is forecast to reach a market value of $350 billion by 2026, contributing significantly to the national GDP.
Dr. Manjula N, Secretary of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology, remarked that welcoming GITEX to Karnataka is “a defining moment” for the region. “This event will connect India’s innovation ecosystem with global partners and attract transformative investment,” she noted. GITEX Ai India is set to put a spotlight on sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, fintech, agritech, and advanced manufacturing.
This new edition aligns with India’s broader Vision 2047, which aims for a digital economy valued at $40 trillion by the century’s end. LohMirmand remarked that GITEX Ai India embodies “the spirit, scale, and aspiration of a new digital era.” The event will also fortify economic ties between the UAE and India, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching $38 billion in the first half of 2025.
GITEX’s Global Network Expands
With the addition of these new events in India and Brazil, GITEX now spans 14 countries, including established hubs like the UAE, Egypt, Germany, Türkiye, Singapore, Nigeria, and Vietnam. This expansion forms the most extensive connected network of technology and AI events globally.
The GITEX brand aims to connect emerging digital markets with established innovation centers, facilitating access to capital, knowledge, and collaboration across borders. By creating a comprehensive ecosystem, GITEX seeks to empower governments, businesses, and startups in their digital transformation journeys, fostering a global dialogue on technology and innovation.
