Hilton Expands Muscat Portfolio with Waldorf Astoria and Two New Resorts
Significant Expansion in Oman
Hilton has officially signed an agreement with The Zubair Corporation to introduce three new hotels in Muscat, which will effectively double Hilton’s presence in Oman. This strategic move is significant for expanding Hilton’s brand footprint in one of the region’s most promising tourism markets.
The agreement encompasses three of Hilton’s prestigious brands: Waldorf Astoria, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton. These hotels will be located in Barr Al Jissah, a scenic luxury coastal development that aims to attract both leisure and business travelers.
Introducing Waldorf Astoria to Oman
The opening of the Waldorf Astoria brand in Oman represents a noteworthy debut for Hilton. This enhances the company’s regional portfolio and aligns with its focus on delivering exceptional hospitality in evolving markets.
“Introducing Waldorf Astoria to Oman, along with new properties for Hilton Hotels and Resorts and DoubleTree by Hilton, signifies an exciting new chapter for Hilton in the Sultanate,” stated Carlos Khneisser, Chief Development Officer for the Middle East and Africa at Hilton.
“With Oman’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, we are poised to meet the growing demand in both leisure and business segments. This initiative aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, aiming for a target of 12 million tourists by 2040,” he added.
A Destination of Natural Beauty
Barr Al Jissah is uniquely situated against a backdrop of mountains and beaches, designed to offer premium hospitality alongside breathtaking natural beauty. Located just 40 minutes from Muscat International Airport, the area is set to cater to a range of visitors, from wellness seekers to business executives.

By leveraging Hilton’s global expertise with our commitment to maintaining Oman’s heritage, we aim to create a world-class destination that exemplifies excellence and authenticity.”
