However, during the procedure, three lymph nodes were also examined, and cancer was detected in the first lymph node. The actress described the lymph nodes as resembling a staircase, indicating that if cancer is present in the lymph nodes, it can potentially “climb up the stairs.”
Callard reassured her followers that while the cancer is present in the first lymph node, it has not spread to the second or third nodes, and its size remains small.
Next Steps in Treatment
Callard elaborated on the next steps in her treatment plan. The results from the lymph node analysis will be sent to the United States to determine the aggressiveness of the cancer. She anticipates receiving this information in approximately two weeks. If the cancer is deemed aggressive, she may need to undergo chemotherapy before proceeding with radiotherapy. Conversely, if the cancer is not aggressive, she will follow the original plan for radiotherapy.
Despite the challenges, Callard expressed gratitude for the successful surgery and acknowledged the ongoing worry due to the lymph node involvement. She thanked her supporters for their care and encouragement during this difficult time.

The 69-year-old actress, who is best known for her portrayal of Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald, recently moved to Ireland with her husband, Jon McEwan.
