Jennifer Lopez and Mark Ronson Ignite Dubai’s One&Only Resort Grand Opening with Star-Studded Performance
Jennifer Lopez surprised guests with a performance at the grand opening of the One&Only One Za’abeel Hotel in Dubai on February 10, 2024. This event coincided with the release of her album This Is Me… Now, her Amazon Prime Video debut, and her recent appointment as chair of the 2024 Met Gala.
Star-Studded Celebration
Lopez joined Mark Ronson, who was DJing for a lavish gathering of 400 attendees celebrating the luxury hotel group’s first vertical urban resort. Dressed in a sequined jumpsuit and hooded fur coat, Lopez took the stage to perform a medley of her hits, including “Jenny From the Block,” “Get Right,” and her new single “Can’t Get Enough.” This marked the first collaboration between Lopez and Ronson, known for his work on the Barbie soundtrack. Idris Elba also entertained the crowd with a DJ set that lasted into the early hours.
A Grand Debut
The opening of One&Only One Za’abeel was a high-profile affair, attracting numerous celebrities, including Naomi Campbell, Vanessa Hudgens, Vincent Cassel, Isabelle Huppert, Esai Morales, designer Mara Hoffman, boxer Ramla Ali, and singer Nicola Roberts. This event highlighted the hotel’s status as a premier destination within the One&Only collection, which already includes notable properties like Royal Mirage and The Palm.
The One&Only One Za’abeel is distinguished as the brand’s first city-centric resort, featuring Siro, a hotel-in-hotel concept focused on fitness and recovery. Room rates start at $515 per night.
Architectural Marvel
Located in the heart of Dubai’s skyline, One&Only One Za’abeel features The Link, a futuristic boulevard suspended 328 feet above ground, connecting two skyscrapers with the world’s longest cantilever. Atop this architectural feat is the longest infinity pool in the United Arab Emirates. The opening weekend also featured a light projection that set multiple Guinness World Records, including the longest and largest architectural temporary projection mapping.
This hotel follows the recent debut of Atlantis The Royal, which featured a performance by Beyoncé.

Unlike many One&Only properties that are primarily destination resorts, One&Only One Za’abeel caters to both business and leisure travelers. It offers a range of experiences, including culinary journeys, arts and culture programs, and wellness initiatives.
Culinary Excellence
The restaurant collection within The Link boasts 11 dining experiences curated by renowned chefs. Notable establishments include Le Dame de Pic by Anne-Sophie Pic, Qabu by Paco Morales, and DuangDy by Thai culinary duo Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones. Other highlights include Arrazuna by Mehmet Gürs, Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda, and StreetXO by Dabiz Muñoz.
Luxurious Accommodations
Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, the hotel features a neutral color palette and officially opened on January 1, 2024. It includes 229 rooms, 94 private residences, and nine penthouses, all emphasizing luxury and privacy. Guests are escorted directly to their rooms, bypassing traditional check-in. Some suites offer 180-degree views of the skyline, while others include in-room spa treatments and advanced audiovisual technology. The Villa One penthouse reimagines the feel of One&Only’s beach villas.
The resort also features the UAE’s first Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie, providing personalized wellness journeys based on longevity, wellbeing, and aesthetics.
Expansion Plans
The opening of One&Only One Za’abeel marks a significant expansion for the brand, with more developments planned for 2024, including the upcoming Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana.
