The SIT comprises Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, and Praveen Kumar, Additional Director General for the Lucknow Zone. This decision followed the Chief Minister’s visit to the site, where he emphasized that accountability would be enforced against those found responsible.

Chief Minister Adityanath arrived at the Aliganj fire site around 6:15 PM to inspect the three-storey building where the fire broke out. Following the site inspection, Adityanath visited King George’s Medical University (KGMU) to meet with the injured victims and their families. He instructed hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for those affected and assured families that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the incident.

In a gesture of support, the Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured.

She described the news as “extremely heartbreaking” and urged the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure proper medical treatment and compensation for the victims. Gandhi called upon Congress workers to assist those affected by the tragedy.

Medical officials confirmed that the death toll has risen to 15, with most fatalities attributed to suffocation. Prem Raj Singh, Medical Superintendent of KGMU, reported that 15 individuals were already deceased upon arrival at the hospital. The bodies have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations. Among the injured, two individuals sustained minor injuries, while one young man is being treated for a spinal injury. Another young woman is receiving care for a leg injury.
