Primark Launches in Dubai for Budget Shoppers
Primark’s New Locations in Dubai
Primark is set to make its debut in the UAE with upcoming stores in three of Dubai’s premier shopping destinations: Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and City Centre Mirdif. These locations will offer shoppers a wide range of apparel, stylish essentials, and home goods at affordable prices. Signs have already begun to appear in the malls, generating excitement among shoppers who are eager to browse the upcoming offerings.
The announcement regarding Primark’s arrival was made in May 2025, indicating that the stores are scheduled to open in early 2026. This expansion represents a significant entry for the brand, known for its value-driven product lines.
Affordable Fashion in the UAE
According to company statements from Alshaya Group, which operates Primark in the region, the retailer will maintain its renowned low pricing strategy in the UAE. “Primark’s famously low prices will be maintained,” confirmed John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, during a local radio interview. With jeans starting at just Dh50 and basic T-shirts priced at Dh15, budget-conscious shoppers are set to benefit significantly from this new addition to the Dubai retail landscape.
Primark’s Expansion in the Region
Before its planned UAE openings, Primark marked its entry into the Middle East by launching its first store in Kuwait’s The Avenues Mall in October 2025. This strategic move laid the groundwork for their further expansion across the region, including the anticipated Dubai locations.
Understanding Primark
Founded in Dublin over 50 years ago, Primark has grown substantially, boasting more than 450 stores across Europe and the United States. The brand’s impending entry into the UAE signals a noteworthy step in its global expansion efforts and caters to the increasing demand for affordable fashion in the region.
With this development, Primark sets the stage for a new retail experience in Dubai, reigniting interest in fast fashion among local shoppers.
Additional Retail Growth in the UAE
The retail landscape in the UAE is poised for exciting changes beyond Primark’s arrival. American beauty retailer Ulta is also on track to enter the region, promising to introduce over 80 new brands upon its opening. Additionally, the fashion label SKIMS, co-founded by Kim Kardashian, launched its first Middle East store at Mall of the Emirates in late 2025.
These developments are indicative of a vibrant retail environment in the UAE, providing residents with an array of shopping options and enhancing the overall consumer experience.
