Ticketless Parking System Launch

Dubai International (DXB) is set to implement a ticketless parking system beginning January 22, under a new ten-year partnership with toll operator Salik. This innovative system aims to enhance the parking experience for travelers at one of the world’s busiest airports.

The ticketless parking initiative will manage 7,400 designated parking spaces across Terminals 1, 2, 3, and the Cargo Mega Terminal. This new approach is expected to significantly streamline parking processes for both departing and arriving passengers.

Integration of Salik E-Wallet System

Under the terms of the agreement, Salik will oversee the integration, operation, and maintenance of the Salik E-Wallet System. This digital solution is designed to provide a fully automated parking experience, which aligns with Dubai Airports’ commitment to modernizing its facilities and improving customer service.

The collaboration aims to facilitate seamless entry and exit from parking areas, increase vehicle throughput, and enhance overall traffic flow around the terminals. Officials anticipate that this system will greatly reduce waiting times and provide a more efficient parking solution.

Official Statements and Future Endeavors

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, along with Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Salik, officiated the signing of the partnership agreement. In a recent announcement, Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration, stating, “This strategic collaboration reflects Dubai’s continued focus on integration and innovation.”

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of Salik, commented on the partnership, stating that it “is fully aligned with our strategy to expand Salik’s role in smart and sustainable mobility while accelerating growth beyond our core tolling business.”

Enhancing Customer Experience

Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Airports, emphasized the benefits of the new system. He remarked, “Our collaboration with Salik introduces a fast, reliable, and widely adopted digital payment option that simplifies parking, reduces queuing at exits, and supports our long-term vision for seamless access across our car parks.”

With more than 4.7 million vehicles in the UAE already linked to Salik accounts, the new ticketless parking feature is expected to offer a familiar and convenient solution for a substantial portion of travelers. As the UAE continues to evolve into a smart city, this advancement supports broader ambitions for cutting-edge infrastructure and user-friendly services.

Record Passenger Traffic

Dubai International Airport recorded its highest quarterly passenger traffic in 65 years during Q3 of 2025, welcoming 24.2 million guests between July and September. This impressive figure brings total traffic for the first nine months of the year to 70.1 million guests, underscoring the importance of an efficient parking system to accommodate increasing travel demands.

By introducing a digital parking payment option, Dubai Airports aims to further enhance the overall travel experience at DXB. As passenger numbers continue to rise, the need for streamlined operations and enhanced customer service remains paramount.
