Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Chairs MBRGI Meeting, Approves AED 2.3 Billion Expenditure to Empower 165 Million Lives Globally
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presided over the Board of Trustees meeting of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation (MBRGI). During this session, His Highness approved the annual business report, which revealed a total expenditure of AED 2.3 billion for the previous year, benefiting over 165 million individuals across 122 countries.
In a statement shared on the X platform, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian efforts, stating, “The UAE has chosen to create hope. It has chosen to build life. It has chosen to stand with humanity wherever they are.”
Significant Impact and Expansion
MBRGI, recognized as the largest charitable organization in the region, has positively impacted approximately 165 million beneficiaries globally. The Foundation’s initiatives expanded significantly in 2025, increasing the number of beneficiaries by 16 million compared to the previous year and extending its reach to four additional countries.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, among others. He stated, “Our humanitarian efforts reached 122 countries worldwide, leaving an impact that we pray will be long-lasting thanks to sustainable endowments worth over AED 7 billion, and long-term institutional structures.” He reiterated that true impact is measured by the changes made in people’s lives, asserting that placing individuals at the heart of priorities is essential.

Among the significant milestones of 2025 was the launch of the Mohammed bin Rashid Endowment District, an integrated urban model that combines residential living with commercial, health, and educational services. Additionally, the Fathers’ Endowment campaign was launched to honor fathers in the UAE, generating funds for healthcare support for vulnerable groups.

His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of MBRGI, highlighted the organization’s commitment to establishing an integrated model for humanitarian and development work. Al Gergawi commended the dedication of the MBRGI team and volunteers, whose contributions were pivotal in the success of the Foundation’s initiatives. Comprehensive Humanitarian Efforts
MBRGI’s 2025 Year in Review showcased the Foundation’s humanitarian, developmental, and social achievements. The initiatives engaged 185,670 volunteers, a notable increase from the previous year, providing crucial support for various projects. The Foundation awarded over AED 30.3 million to recognize achievements in humanitarian and developmental work.
The organization encompasses over 30 institutions and initiatives, implementing hundreds of projects across five key areas: Humanitarian Aid and Relief, Healthcare and Disease Control, Education and Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Empowering Communities.
Humanitarian Aid and Relief
In 2025, MBRGI’s spending on humanitarian aid and relief exceeded AED 625 million, benefiting more than 53 million people. Key achievements included the launch of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endowment District and the completion of the 1 Billion Meals initiative, which distributed meals across 65 countries.
Healthcare and Disease Control
MBRGI invested approximately AED 872 million in healthcare initiatives, benefiting over 396,000 individuals. The Fathers’ Endowment campaign raised AED 3.72 billion, exceeding its initial target and providing medical care for those in need.
Education and Knowledge
Total spending on education initiatives reached AED 419 million, benefiting 106 million people. The Arab Reading Challenge attracted over 32 million students, while the Digital School expanded its reach to over 800,000 students across 39 countries.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
MBRGI recognized the role of innovation in development, spending AED 239 million on initiatives that benefited around 1.4 million people. The Great Arab Minds Award and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award highlighted advancements in technology and entrepreneurship.
Empowering Communities
In 2025, MBRGI allocated over AED 187 million to empower communities, benefiting approximately 3.9 million people. The Arab Hope Makers initiative honored projects that improved lives, while the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government celebrated its 20th anniversary.
