One of the key highlights of the arts program is “Spain in Transmission: New Digital Work,” which features four innovative artists: Enrique Agudo, Filip Custic, Jesu Moratiel, and Marina Núñez. The SXSW London website underscores Spain’s evolution from a country known for historical figures like Goya and Picasso to a hub of digital innovation, showcasing a new generation of artists who utilize digital tools in their creative processes. The event is committed to exploring the challenges and opportunities that technology presents in the creative industries.
AI and Robotics at the Forefront
Artificial intelligence and robotics will be prominent topics throughout the SXSW London 2026 conference. Arnander remarked that discussions around AI have become ubiquitous, affecting various sectors, including film, music, and healthcare. She posed a critical question: “What doesn’t involve AI now?” This reflects the pervasive influence of AI as a proprietary tool in contemporary life.

Robotics will be explored in sessions such as “A Robot Walks Into the Office…,” where Nathan Wallace, head of robotics at NextGen Ri, will discuss the implications of humanoid robots transitioning from factories to workplaces. He plans to showcase a Unitree G1 humanoid robot during his presentation. Another panel will address the vision behind humanoid and robotic AI, examining the practical aspects of living in a future shaped by these technologies.
The Impact of Technofeudalism
A significant theme at SXSW London will be the influence of technology giants and the concept of technofeudalism. Arnander noted that discussions will focus on how media and technology have transformed communication and political campaigning. She referenced the example of former President Trump, illustrating how AI has shaped his communication strategies.
Mental Health and Community Engagement
Mental health issues, particularly in relation to social media and the current global climate, will also be a recurring theme. Arnander highlighted the importance of addressing mental health, especially for children navigating social media. A notable session titled “Overloaded with Ruby Wax” will feature the actor and writer, who is also trained in mental health, discussing coping strategies.
In response to feedback from last year, SXSW London has expanded its networking and mentoring offerings, now featuring over 120 mentors available for one-on-one sessions. This initiative aims to facilitate connections and idea-sharing among attendees, enhancing the overall experience.
Networking and Social Opportunities
The event will also include numerous social gatherings for delegates, fostering a sense of community among participants. Arnander emphasized the importance of networking, stating that this year’s programming is designed to encourage attendees to connect and share ideas in person.
