Dubai: Residents throughout the UAE can now enjoy the convenience of having their prescribed medications delivered directly to their homes, thanks to a service initiated by Emirates Health Services (EHS). This medication delivery service, first introduced in 2020, allows patients to receive their prescriptions without the need to wait at pharmacies following their medical consultations.
Overview of the ‘Patients’ Medication Delivery’ Service
The ‘Patients’ Medication Delivery’ service is designed to facilitate home delivery of medications after a consultation with an EHS-affiliated doctor. Patients receive guidance on dosage through a virtual pharmacy, ensuring they have all necessary information for their treatment.
How the Service Operates
The process for utilizing this service is straightforward and largely automated:
- Patients consult with an EHS doctor.
- The prescribed medication is prepared.
- Patients are contacted to arrange either delivery or collection from the nearest health center.
Eligibility for the Service
This service is available to all individuals who consult at an EHS facility. Both UAE residents and visitors can benefit from subsidized healthcare by applying for an EHS health card, which grants access to numerous EHS facilities across the country.
