On Friday, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived at the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest as part of his official visit to Hungary. His Highness was warmly welcomed by Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok upon his arrival.

An elaborate reception ceremony took place in Kossuth Lajos Square, positioned in front of the Parliament Building. The event featured an escort of riders on horseback accompanying the UAE President’s motorcade. Following the performances of the national anthems of the UAE and Hungary, Sheikh Mohamed inspected the guard of honor, greeting senior Hungarian ministers and officials.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán witnessed the exchange of several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two nations. This exchange is aimed at boosting cooperation across various sectors of development, reflecting a mutual commitment to strengthen ties.

The agreements cover crucial areas such as data centers, artificial intelligence projects, green and renewable energy, food and agriculture, and family and youth policy. Other sectors included in the MoUs are government modernization, energy storage solutions, and defense cooperation.

The ceremony for the exchange of these agreements took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Budapest. Representing the UAE were several key ministers and officials, underscoring the significance of this diplomatic engagement. Notably, the delegation included Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; and Sana Bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family.

On Hungary’s side, respective ministers and officials facilitated the execution of the agreements, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the discussed cooperation areas. This initiative marks a pivotal step toward strengthening bilateral relations and exploring future opportunities.

Additional representatives in the delegation included prominent figures such as Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs; and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of a leading investment company.
