UAE’s Gitex 2025: AI Innovations Strengthen Daily Life Across Mobility, Security, and Real Estate
Innovative technologies showcased at Gitex Global 2025 are set to transform daily life in the UAE, enhancing mobility, security, and real estate. Among the highlights are advanced vehicles for detecting visa violations, intelligent traffic systems, and AI-driven public services, all aimed at improving efficiency and user experience.
A Car That Detects Visa Violators
A new vehicle equipped with six cameras offering 360-degree coverage is designed to identify visa violators. This car can capture facial images from up to 10 meters away and cross-check them with government databases in real time. Faris Almaeeni, Foreign Affairs Systems Department Manager at the ICP, stated that the vehicle is fully electric and features its own dashboard integrated with AI technology, which provides heat maps for enhanced situational awareness.
These vehicles are expected to be deployed in Dubai by early 2026, with plans for expansion to other emirates. This initiative is part of the ICP’s broader strategy to digitalize inspection and immigration processes. The agency reported over 32,000 visa violations in the first half of 2025 and anticipates that this technology will expedite detection and resolution.
Traffic Lights That Communicate with Vehicles
An innovative traffic management system is being developed to enhance road safety and efficiency. This system analyzes footage from roadside cameras to identify vehicles and pedestrians, synchronizing traffic signals across multiple intersections. Eng. Salah Al Marzooqi, Director of Intelligent Traffic Systems at RTA, explained that the system detects vehicle types and counts, as well as pedestrian volumes, feeding this data into a central system with a defined algorithm.
In the next phase, the system will communicate directly with vehicles, providing countdowns for green and red lights and alerts for congestion. Al Marzooqi emphasized the goal of reducing reliance on mobile devices for traffic updates, allowing drivers to focus solely on the road.
Parkin’s Smart Mobility Initiative
Parkin is advancing its smart parking ecosystem by integrating essential services such as insurance. Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, highlighted that this integration sets new standards for convenience and efficiency. The initiative aims to create a seamless, cashless, and ticketless parking experience throughout the city, allowing users to park, pay, and leave without barriers or manual intervention.
Smarter Property Transactions
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has launched the Investor AI Assistant, powered by Google Cloud’s Gemini. This tool assists buyers and investors in analyzing data, assessing properties, and obtaining predictive insights, facilitating quicker and more informed investment decisions. Additionally, DLD’s partnership with Microsoft focuses on enhancing customer service. Through Microsoft Dynamics 365, all customer interactions are unified under a single AI-powered interface, streamlining requests and ensuring faster responses.
These collaborations are crucial to DLD’s objective of fostering a transparent and investor-friendly market, aligning with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33.
Abu Dhabi’s AI Public Servant
Abu Dhabi is pioneering the world’s first transactional AI public servant, as stated by Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement. This system automates transactions in the background while providing personalized dashboards and reminders. Dr. Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM, noted the shift from one-off transactions to intelligent journeys tailored to individual needs, emphasizing the promise of AI in enhancing user experience.
Enhancing Workplace Safety with AI
A new AI tracker is being implemented to improve workplace safety by analyzing images and field data to identify missing protective gear, unsafe practices, or hazardous materials. Upon detecting a violation, the system generates a natural-language report for inspectors. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s commitment to proactive regulation and worker welfare.
Redefining Policing with AI and Biometrics
The International Center for Forensic Sciences is exploring advanced biometric identification methods. Dr. Hamad Mansour Al Awar, Acting Director, indicated that the system can identify individuals in the database even if they are wearing masks or in low-light conditions. This approach aims to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement.
The Future of Court Proceedings
The court system is undergoing a digital transformation, allowing litigants to open case files, appoint legal representation, and schedule hearings online. Inside the courthouse, an AI lawyer can present cases, while facial recognition technology ensures secure access and verification. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s Smart Justice vision, aimed at simplifying litigation and reducing time and costs for users.
Touchless Parking and Smarter Investing
In Abu Dhabi, touchless parking solutions are being introduced, enhancing convenience for drivers. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) is leveraging AI tools to streamline investment processes. Through TAMM integration, residents can open investor accounts using their Emirates ID and UAE PASS, while AI tools quickly summarize company announcements and court rulings. Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group CEO of ADX, noted that integrating AI into operations has improved market efficiency and access to information.
Across various sectors, the technological advancements showcased at Gitex Global 2025 signal a future where digital systems operate seamlessly, enhancing everyday life in the UAE. From automatic license renewals to ticketless parking and real-time traffic updates, these innovations are set to redefine the user experience.
