Dubai’s retail landscape is poised for an exciting 2026, with the announcement of 18 major citywide festivals, high-profile partnerships, and groundbreaking campaigns. This comprehensive year-long program aims to affirm Dubai’s standing as a premier global destination for shopping, culture, and entertainment.
Flagship events such as the 31st Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) are set to return, alongside a new retail phenomenon called the Great Dubai Summer Sale. These initiatives are designed not only to attract visitors but also to enhance the shopping experience for residents.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Retail Calendar
The 2026 Retail Calendar builds upon the success of past years. In the 30th edition of DSF, participants enjoyed world-class shopping and entertainment, with over AED 50 million (approximately $13.6 million) awarded in prizes to more than 1,100 winners through various raffles.
According to surveys conducted by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the DSS contributed to a remarkable 110% increase in average spending from June through August. The event involved 1,200 participants who collectively won AED 20 million (around $5.4 million) in prizes across 180 raffles, alongside 4,000 promotional offers available at 3,800 retail outlets.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of DFRE, emphasized the importance of the 2026 Retail Calendar: “It reaffirms Dubai’s unwavering commitment to excellence and diversity in delivering world-class experiences for both residents and visitors. This initiative also strengthens Dubai’s global reputation as a shopping, lifestyle, and cultural capital.”
Moreover, since its inception in 2017, the Retail Calendar has connected over 1,000 brands and 4,000 retail outlets, leading to significant sales increases and bolstering Dubai’s status as a regional retail hub.
Major Events and Celebrations in 2026
The 2026 Retail Calendar is enriched with significant events, including the 10th anniversary of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and the observance of cultural milestones such as Ramadan, Eid, Chinese New Year, and Diwali. Additionally, the Dubai Esports and Games Festival will return after attracting 45,000 fans in 2025, featuring 3.8 million gamers who competed across 90 tournaments, thereby drawing the attention of approximately 2,000 industry professionals from 70 countries.

Dubai Shopping Festival (December 5, 2025 – January 11, 2026)
The 31st edition promises a spectacular array of drone and pyro shows featuring over 1,000 drones alongside the Auto Season and innovative experiences.

Traditional celebrations, dining experiences, and stunning fireworks will light up the skies, marking this festival.
Dubai Fashion Season (Q1–Q4 2026)
